Continuing with our Behind the Scenes with Accountable series, let's meet Shameshia Brown, the Director of Accounting for our Finance/Accounting Department. Shameshia has been with Accountable for just five months, but her 21-year career in accounting brings an incredible wealth of experience to our team.

Shameshia oversees all of the company’s accounting functions as Director of Accounting. From accounts payable to safeguarding the company’s assets, she ensures that our financial reporting is accurate and timely. Her attention to detail and leadership are key to running our financials smoothly.

Shameshia’s journey to Accountable is rooted in her 13 years of experience in the healthcare industry, which she loves. She was drawn to Accountable for its unique balance—small enough to maintain a family-like atmosphere, yet big enough to offer a sense of impact and growth. That sense of belonging was exactly what she was looking for.

Before joining us, Shameshia’s career took her from working as a staff accountant in the automotive industry to rising as a senior in a healthcare organization. Through market shifts and company acquisitions, she found her place in healthcare finance, spending five years at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America before transitioning to a smaller healthcare organization. Now, at Accountable, Shameshia is thriving and loving every minute.

Outside of work, Shameshia loves spending time with her two amazing kids, Sydney (10) and Sylvester (7), especially at water parks. Family is at the heart of her life, and her son, who is non-verbal, brings her endless joy and adventure every day.

When it comes to movies, Shameshia’s go-to favorites are "Boyz in the Hood" and "The Godfather." She’s got great taste in cinema!

For Shameshia, the best part of her job is the team she inherited. She’s grateful for the supportive and wonderful colleagues who make each day worthwhile—something she says is rare in today’s work climate.

Though she’s only been with us for a short time, Shameshia feels truly welcomed by everyone at Accountable. She’s thankful for the opportunity to be part of this wonderful organization, and we couldn’t be happier to have her on board!
