In this edition of Behind the Scenes with Accountable, we're excited to introduce Tam Austin, our Payroll and Operations Coordinator in the Schools Division. Since joining Accountable Healthcare in August 2017, Tam has been a vital part of our team, ensuring seamless operations and supporting staff and clients.

Tam's role encompasses processing weekly payroll, serving as a backup for credentialing, and assisting account managers with communications to schools regarding open positions. Her dedication ensures that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Tam joined Accountable Healthcare shortly after moving from Florida to Texas, looking for a fresh start. She immediately connected with the team and knew she had found the right fit. “I loved the team and was so excited to join and work with such great people,” she recalls. With a background in accounting—primarily accounts receivable—she brought valuable expertise that has helped keep our Schools Division organized and growing.

Outside of work, Tam and her husband have found a fun and unique way to spend time together—square dancing!

"It sounds so folksy, but it's so much fun. Don’t knock it till you try it!" she laughs. They started about a year ago and quickly fell in love with it. Recently, they added round dancing to the mix, a ballroom-style dance where moves are called out as they go. It’s been a great way to meet new people, stay active, and share a hobby they both enjoy.

A lesser-known fact about Tam? She had a brief moment in the spotlight as a child model! At just 10 years old, she participated in a Back-to-School fashion show for Dillard’s, walking the runway and doing a full photo shoot for their collection.

Tam’s heart belongs to her family when she's not working or dancing. She has been happily married for nearly 20 years and is a proud mom to her two boys, Noah (17) and Lucas (12). The family also includes their beloved dog, Dallas.

For Tam, the best part of her job is the people she works with. “I love helping people and also just being a part of such a great team. I love our division and seeing it grow,” she shares. Her dedication and enthusiasm shine through in everything she does, and we are so grateful to have her as part of the Accountable Healthcare family!
